For the first time in history, you now have the opportunity to stay in the old beautiful Sæby Watermill.

Sæby’s landmark, the old idyllic Sæby Watermill, was built back in 1710 and is beautifully located right next to Sæby River and the dam. The charming half-timbered house features two vacation homes: the Mill House and Thora’s House. Both homes are completely unique with their own distinctive style and story.

The Mill House is the old workshop in the Watermill. Enjoy the vaulted ceiling and the fabulous view of the dam on Sæby River. Listen to the collection of vinyl records, relax in the alcove, and immerse yourself in over 300 years of industrial history in the impressive mill. The Mill House can accommodate up to 6 guests.

Thora’s House is the cozy family home in the Watermill. It features beautiful vintage joinery furniture, a view of the lush garden and the river. Relax with a good book and imagine life in the Watermill for several hundred years. Thora’s House can accommodate up to 6 guests.

During your stay at Sæby Watermill, you have access to the lush and beautiful private garden that stretches along Sæby River. The garden surrounding the mill is a picturesque landscape adorned with lilacs, rhododendrons, roses, tulips, anemones, lilies, climbing hydrangeas, and lavender, offering a delightful visual experience. Relax in the wooden Adirondack garden chairs, listen to the sound of the Watermill’s dam, and drift back in time when the Watermill was the setting for milling, carriage-making, and wood manufacturing. Enjoy your coffee in the cozy Orangery, take a walk by the historic dam, and be impressed by the power of the river in all seasons.

The Watermill is only a few minutes’ walk from Sæby’s main shopping street, the delightful beach, the harbor area, and Sæbygaard Forest.

Additionally, the Watermill is conveniently located, a 6 minutes’ walk from Hotel Aahøj, where you can check-in, check-out, and have the option to enjoy breakfast.

Overnight stays in the Watermill must include a minimum of 2 nights or more.

The Watermill offers two distinct holiday homes:
The Mill House which accommodates up to 6 guests. It consists of two loft beds, a main bedroom with two beds and a double bed in the alcove. It features a living room, dining room, kitchen, two toilets, and a bathroom.

Thora’s House can also accommodate 6 guests. Two bedrooms with single beds and two bedrooms with two beds. It has a living room, kitchen-dining area, two toilets, and a bathroom.

Both homes provide bed linen, towels, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, dishwashing liquid, and hand soap.

There is no daily cleaning during your stay, but the price includes cleaning at departure. If you need refreshing of the accommodations or require extra bed linen, towels, etc., this can be purchased for a small fee through Hotel Aahøj. Both homes are equipped with a small minibar located in the refrigerators. Minibar consumption will be settled upon departure.

There are plenty of opportunities to prepare your own meals in the kitchens of the homes.

Alternatively, you can opt for and enjoy breakfast at Hotel Aahøj, which should be pre-booked no later than the day before.
